Job Description: Project Manager
Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing custom window projects from order release through final completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, that information is clear and accurate, expectations are managed and aligned, and the customer finishes the job feeling supported the whole way. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, architects, internal production teams, and installers throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has experience working for a commercial general contractor as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager and understands how commercial construction projects are managed from preconstruction through closeout. This individual should be comfortable coordinating with superintendents, subcontractors, architects, owners, and field personnel while anticipating the needs and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple commercial window projects simultaneously from project kickoff through final completion.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers, general contractors, architects, vendors, production, and installation teams.
- Review project specifications, drawings, contracts, and schedules to ensure all requirements are understood and communicated.
- Coordinate project timelines with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, shipping, and installation departments.
- Monitor schedules, and milestones while proactively identifying and resolving issues that may impact delivery.
- Track material procurement, production status, and delivery schedules to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Coordinate change orders, project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and closeout documents.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and schedule changes to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate field service or engineering resources to address installation challenges in the field.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely communication and responsive problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate project records within the company’s project management systems. Coordinate with customers to ensure window manufacturing and installation activities align with the overall construction schedule.
- Review project schedules and proactively identify critical path activities or potential schedule conflicts that could impact project milestones.
- Participate in owner/architect/contractor (OAC) meetings and project coordination meetings, as required.
- Coordinate installation sequencing with field personnel, general contractors, and other trades to support efficient project execution.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience supporting commercial construction projects.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working for a commercial general contractor or in a project management role requiring extensive coordination with commercial general contractors. Candidates with direct general contractor experience are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field operations.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Preferred:
- Experience in window, curtain wall, storefront, glazing, or other building envelope products.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of construction documentation, submittals, RFIs, and change order processes.

Their ability to think proactively, communicate clearly, and keep projects moving contributes directly to successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
